How To Poll and Update an Acroprint time clock system

To set the update cycle, you need to right click on the small icon of a man at a desk located in the system tray of your computer.  Select System Utilities and enter your login ID and password.  At the upper right corner is a tab for  timeQplus settings.  On that screen you will find settings for Polling (how often the clock is “read” by the computer) and Updating (how often the computer “pushes” the current status of the employees to the terminal).  Bear in mind that you want to keep the update cycle as something that divides evenly into 24, otherwise the update time will change every day.  By default the polling cycle is set to once per hour on the current release.  Remember that employees cannot punch while the system is polling or updating, so do not set this cycle any more frequently than is absolutely necessary.  Whenever you run a report, it is advised to perform a manual poll anyway, so it isn’t critical to have the system automatically poll with extreme frequency.

If there is a problem with the time totals being displayed on the TQ100 screen not being up to date, try setting the Update cycle to more frequent updates, bearing in mind the advisories laid out in the first paragraph.

Remember that in order for overnight updates to occur, the computer running the ATRx server must be left on.  In the event the terminal is connected via RS232 or RS485, the server and the computer to which the terminal is connected (these may be the same computer) must both be left on overnight.
