The time clock blog

This is my blog.

It's not pretty, it's not even edited all that much.  I'm a 60+ y/o guy who is facing the end of his career, while his career is actually climbing.  Business has been consistantly better, year after year after, well, 20+ years, even in this supposedly bad economy.  Even when the gross sags, the net that I keep, increases.  Its good to be the odd guy in the crowd, and be able to “pull it off”.  And I can say this:  I have done it with great integrity and honesty.

October 16, 2012
Representatives from QQuest stopped by and bent my ear for 3 hours.  They talked, of course, time clocks and time clocking systems.  So there we were, talking time clocks, Andy our newest employee who handles logistics and broad company development, Trish - sales and technical support, Maria - office manager and nexus of all things complicated, and I were there.  Interestingly enough, Richard Metcalf, a 16 year employee of QQuest TimeForce, had brought along a cellular time clock system.  One that can be dropped, tossed, even thrown good distances. It also tracks jobs.  This will be a good fit for our construction and remote site installations.

October 19, 2012 Friday.  TGIF.  Such a week.  Business is bubbling back up to 2011 levels.  Economic reports are again trending positive - unless you do not believe in Dow Jones and the declining unemployment figures, and our phones are ringing more consistantly.  We are rolling out another website, which takes us in to another market.  We continue to study our most successful competitors, and as usual, find that they are mirroring us.  Small world.  One of my competitors has even copied 60% of my SEO work on my home page.  I guess if you can't invent it, copy it from someone who is ahead of you.  I'm now rewriting the home page for the 4th time, each time it gets better - more SEO friendly, and the message becomes clearer.  Treat people as you wish they would treat you - but remember the painful lessons learned that got you here.
